Virtual meetings are here to stay. However, do you sometimes wonder if anyone is paying attention or simply exhausted from all the virtual meetings we attend these days? As a meeting leader, do you fear that virtual meetings may seem to some like a license to multitask? What happens if someone sits back and tunes out? Have you ever presented an idea in a virtual meeting, paused for a reaction, and then heard, “I’m not sure I followed you,” which might as well mean, “I was shampooing my cat and didn’t realize I would be called on.” It does not have to be this way. With the right preparation and strategy, virtual meetings provide teams with a safe, effective, and efficient way to get things done.

Who Should Attend
Current and future managers and team leads with responsibilities for coordinating the efforts of remote or hybrid teams or individuals; Human Resources professionals serving as advisors to current and future remote team managers.

What You Will Learn
After this workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Frame the meeting using a simple organizational strategy so that attendees understand the meeting’s (1) purpose, (2) direction, and (3) context
  • Strategically use ice breakers to get meeting participants ready to engage
  • Create voluntary engagement in the conversation taking place
  • Make virtual meetings inclusive, where everyone has a voice
  • Create meaningful interactions
  • Invite only those people who need to attend
  • Effectively prepare for virtual meetings
  • Enhance the productivity of remote meetings with people still getting used to working remotely
  • Nurture relationships and be the type of person others want to meet with
  • Make time for small talk in your virtual meetings
