Organizational culture determines what employees do and why. Culture influences how work gets done, impacts the success or failure of projects, determines who fits in and who does not, and affects the overall morale or atmosphere of an organization. Organizational values, behaviors, and attitudes characterize a business and guide its practices. Therefore, all employees must understand their organizations’ values and consistently demonstrate these values in the way they think and behave.


Course Objectives:
Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:
  • Explain how an organization’s values can drive organizational culture and employee performance
  • Identify individual employee values and what motivates employee performance
  • Operationally define organizational values within team and personal vision and mission statements
  • Align individual employee activities with organizational values
  • Help employees work with greater values-driven purpose
  • Help employees change behaviors to better demonstrate organizational values

Defining Purpose from Organizational Values
  • Creating a shared team vision and mission statements
  • Creating personal vision and mission statements
Measuring Purpose and Organizational Values in Action
  • How to be a good role model for promoting organizational values
  • Aligning individual employee objectives with organizational values – a special application of Management By Objectives
  • Setting values-driven goals with employees
  • Key Performance Indicators –linking employee activities or organizational values
The Desire for Organizational Values-Driven Behavior
  • Helping employees find deeper personal meaning in their organization – working with purpose and values
  • Changing people’s habits – encouraging and sustaining new values-driven behaviors


Up to 30 students


  • Virtual Classes will be a live, Instructor lead class in Zoom for Government, a virtual technical assistant VTA will be available to assist students with any technical issues, take roll, administer evaluations, and distribute certificates of completion. Course materials will be provided electronically.
  • Onsite classes will be held at your location. The instructor will travel to you. Materials will be printed and shipped to your site. A sign-up sheet will be provided for student to enter their name (as they want it on their certificate) and the email address to send the certificate to. GSA travel costs will be added to the course fee. Contact us for a travel estimate.
  • A minimum of 2 weeks lead time is needed for virtual classes, 3 weeks for onsite classes.
